Help please from a police officer!?

Last night my cousin and I decided to take my uncle's truck to Rhode Island. (we live in ct). Anyway, on the way home while we were still in Rhode Island at 2 in the morning I got pulled over for speeding only because I was running on gas fumes, didnt know where I was and the check engine light was on. I was going 87 in a 65. The state trooper pushed it down to 75 in a 65. I got a $95 ticket. Will my uncle's insurance be affected or is it just my license?
