Why do some people misunderstand the true ist nature of 'feminism'?

I agree that many have a skewed view of Feminism, and hence, they brand any and all opposition to the ism that it exhibits, as misogyny. There are the fair ones in Feminism, as it is with every other groups, but it is an undeniable fact that it is the radicals that run the movement for the moderate ones. As long as whack-jobs like H. Harman and J. Smith are in positions of power, I will continue thinking of Feminism as benign ism.
