Help with paragraphing in English papers?

I have always been called a great writer. But this professor for level 1 English that I have now is a real piece of work! He tells us to write in MLA format, I do. He says my paragraphing form is incorrect and fails all of my papers due to my "paragraphing". He says I am breaking one page ignments into many paragraphs. Thats what MLA format is! I am furious with him because he never seems to be happy with anything I do. He wants college level written papers and I write at a professional/journalistic method and he doesn't like it. How can I please this guy? What am I doing wrong?
