My memory is vague, but I remember as a child playing a game that involved 3 male characters and a girl. The player had to pick one of these characters and go beat/shoot up some bad guys. One of the guy characters was big and tall. I remember the players had on what resembled black biker gloves. It was a beet 'em up/shoot 'em up type game. In Western Australia the sun appears to drop into the sea, presumably because there is nothing but ocean to the west. In the UAE looking towards the Gulf the sun vanishes whilst at 15-20 degs above the horizon, ie it never appears to drop into the Ocean - but why is this?. My mom is constantly pushing religion on me and my children. How can I get her to stop?

I grew up in a very strict, evangelical home where religion and attending church was paramount. Despite a Christian facade, my home was plagued with dysfunction and addiction. I am still trying to heal my relationship with my mother who has moved 2000 miles away. My husband and I have decided to raise our boys away from the church but with the values that we feel model Jesus' teachings such as empathy, tolerance, kindness and honesty. My boys, five and seven, are incredibly grounded and respectful. I rarely see my mom. When she is around, her main topic of conversation is God and how she is born again and how I am sinful for not raising my children in church. She knows that I believe in living by example and that I often talk to my children about God. Her last visit to my home resulted in her putting the fear of the devil into my children and consequently "saving" them when I thought she was reading to them. Doing this behind my back really crossed the line. I don't know what to do.

Okay. So I know that July First is roughly 3 months and 10 days away. This when I'll be going on my vacation. I am trying to lose weight before this event (by eating salad/veggies/fish/fruit/meat ect.) and avioding eating before 3pm. I exercise about 20 minutes per day. I know that losing weight varies from person to person. But I was wondering if it is physically possible to lose 40-50 pounds in about 3 months, without dietary pills or starvation. How do you get comfortable sunbathing in the nude?

I'm a very open person and I don't think there is anything wrong with sunbathing in the nude. The only problem is, I live in America and our country tends to make us feel ashamed of our bodies. I like the European way of thinking when it comes to their bodies, especially countries like Greece. They don't see the naked body as something ual all the time or something to be embarred about, and they are comfortable being nude even around family members of the opposite . I like that, how they can do that without making a big deal out of it and making it seem ual (especially being around a family member of the opposite because too many people in my country would say it's ual and that is just disgusting and immature). I want to be able to think that way, but how? I have a few questions about my baby?

I had my 1st baby 7 weeks ago. I also couldn't feed due to health problems & medicine from my delivery so she has always been formula fed. About the nose, I would ask the doctor. People keep telling me to let my baby cry it out but she won't. She's so stubborn! I just hold her & try to change positions with her to see what makes her the happiest- on my lap, over the shoulder, etc. My baby went through a growth spurt too! She was 6lbs 2oz & 19 inches when she was born & at her 1 month check up she was 10lbs & 23 inches!! I wondered how that was possible & thought maybe I was overfeeding her but the doctor said that's normal. Sometimes she'll want to eat alot, other times she will not want anything. At first she didn't really want to use a pacifier, but I've tried to get her to use it because she would want to suck on the bottle to fall alseep & I dont want her to choke or even overeat just to fall asleep.

you have to go to a different dentist... if he's doing a root c and your still in pain that's not right. when you take the nerve out your not suppose to feel anything. don't even go back to him id go to a completely different dentist. if its about the money then yeah go to your dentist and he has to fix it without charging you because HE messed up and that's not right...and to be honest with my experience i don't think they do silver filling anymore its always kinda suppose to match your actual tooth. i haven't seen the silver ones for a looong time, shouldn't be too weird. if your suspicious about anything look him up and make sure he is legit and has everything up to date!!! i hope you'll be ok oh my god that's too much pain!!! trust me ive had root cs and the works its scary and very painful :( lettme know good luck hun

Confronting a teacher who yells and screams at the kids?

I would request a meeting with the teacher and principal. Get the other mom go with you also so its not just your word against the teachers( she most likely will deny it). Tell the principal exactly what your daughter told you about that day and aslo how she is scared to go to the cl now. See what happens at that meeting. I would give the teacher a second chance but as soon as anything even remotely similar happened I would skip the principal and go straight to school board and demand diciplinary actions against the teacher. Every kid deserves and needs a safe environment at school and needs to be protected from bullying, especially if the bully is the teacher. Everything else fails threaten the school to go public with the story. I'm sure they dont want that kind of publicity. Good luck

Okay, this could seem confusing, but I will try to explain. My boyfriends sister is moving to where we live with her family to find better work. I would recommend a mixture. My cat has a healthy diet and lots of energy he is fed felix, whiskas and go cat dried biscuits. I alternate between them because like humans i believe variety makes food more interesting, it also makes them less fussy- as we know cats can be very fussy. I would recommend that you get the vet to clean his teeth occasionally and you can get special toothpaste, i got this from my vets and my cat doesn't have smelly breath or yellow teeth common with many cats.

How can I deter birds from eating catfood left outdoors?

I leave dry cat food out for some feral cats that visit my yard regularly. I started doing that so they would hang out and get rid of the snakes and mice I was having problems with. Now the starlings and blue jays are emptying the self-feeder. I have three bird feeders in the yard so it's not like the birds don't have seed to eat. I moved the feeder onto the deck beside the back door, and under a chair. I put a plastic owl in front of the chair and a ceramic cat next to it. That didn't seem to bother the birds at all. Any other suggestions?

I have always been called a great writer. But this professor for level 1 English that I have now is a real piece of work! He tells us to write in MLA format, I do. He says my paragraphing form is incorrect and fails all of my papers due to my "paragraphing". He says I am breaking one page ignments into many paragraphs. Thats what MLA format is! I'm well aware that the electoral college overrides popular vote for pres. What I'm asking is when there started to be a popular vote. The electors now vote the way the people in their state voted in the popular election. Per the constitution, they are each states electors are to pick 2 candidates (based on their own opinion) and their votes are counted by the Pres of the US Senate and the winner is the president. There is no mention of primaries or caucuses being used to determine the candidates, or of a popular vote determining who the electors vote for. I have checked Wikepedia, I have read the constitution and it seems we are electing a president our way with no justification in the constitution. According to Newsweek the founders set it up this way to make sure that a person who is a good speaker and charismatic cannot win the presidency based on popular opinion. 9 week old daughter sleeping more, not nursing as much?

at her 2 month check a couple days ago the dr said she was gaining weight well. she has had a cold and has been congested, and she seems like she has been sleeping alot more than usual. not nursing as long as she used to. when she is awake, she seems happy though. smiley and everything. she will latch on fine and start to drink, but she falls asleep within a few minutes. i wake her up and she will then take the other but be kinda squirmy. i think my milk supply is decreasing, because she is not nursing as often as she was before. i used to wake up really full, and im not any more. please give me some advice. besides pumping. when i try to pump i get nothing but sore . thanks

Laptop screen is off but the power on is turned on?

I have a Gateway laptop M-series and it was working fine this morning. I came home today, pressed the power on and the screen stayed turned off. The wireless, caps lock, and number lock icons are illuminated with the blue light as always. Except now whenever I press the caps lock or number lock on and slide the Wireless switch, the lights wont turn off. I shut it down, took out the battery and let it sit for awhile but nothing works. I also left it charging and still nothing! Anyone know what's wrong?

The image on Flickr is already down so someone must have complained. I've never heard of this as a genre unless it's in the context of a collage, sampling other photographers images. I think this is clearly a case of copyright infringement and fraud. Photo labs that copy photos are quite careful to make sure that there is permission given by the photographer when a client comes in with an image to copy. Otherwise, they are committing a crime. Theft is always offensive.

you actually have a good squad...good blend of everything.....you should bulk up in power and get 1 more additonial starter....the rule to trading is give 1 good guy away for 2 medium players so i would say try giving away chipper jones to get a downgrade in 3rd base but a legitmate starter.....to get power is hard because there usually big named guys...you have good team average and hits so give that up for a guy like carlos pena or adam dunn even though there bad when it comes to average and strikeouts.....it really does look like you can afford that hit so give up rich harden for like a pena...goodluck

Yes you have cycled long enough,you will need a couple of hardy fish in the tank to create the correct bacteria for any other fish for about 2 weeks, cichlids are good and colourful, however they are territorial when breeding if there are plenty of hiding places you will be fine. But there are plenty of different fish for this size tank. I will probably get a thumbs down for this but if you get a couple of fish 1 week and go to get some more another week you will need a quarantine tank to make sure they do not p any disease to your original fish. How can I replace my square recessed lighting with round cans?

Hi, I have 5 square recessed lights in my finished basement, about 10 or 12 inches(100 to 144 square inches) and they are a bit dated, being original to a home built in the late 1960s. You need some help. CPU and mobo are fine. Get less expensive RAM. $225 is a lot for 6GB. Get some Mushkin for $175. Samsung hard drives are not very reliable, look at Western Digital. The GTS 250 is not a bad card but it is not on the same level as the rest of your system. Look for a GTX 260 Core 216 or better. Your case should have better airflow. For $143 you can get a Cooler Master HAF 932 which has excellent cooling and it probably $5 cheaper. Next, your PSU is underpowered. You should get a 650W model from a well known company like Corsair, SeaSonic, OCZ, Thermaltake, even Cooler Master; don't skimp on the PSU. Everything else is fine.

I'm trying to make a rag quilt. I cut my squares the same size ( 6 in by 6 in) using a template. The material I'm using is flannel so as you know, it tends to expand and contract at a lot different rates than regular cotton or most other materials. What I want to know, is even though I used a 6"x6" template my squares are different sizes. Before piecing my squares together, how can i make sure they are the same size?

Good job on doing your research. I would say in addition to your 2 dwarf gouramis you could get 5 or 6 of the tetras and rosboras. They are both schooling fish, so they like to be in groups of about 6. They will all get along and are compatible. I'm not really sure what to get as a center piece, most fish would probably get too big. However, you could get 4 cory catfish for the bottom of your tank. they eat small sinking shrimp pellets you can get at your local fish store. I think you are pretty well stocked. If you want live plants java moss and amazon swords are pretty easy to care for. Otherwise plastic plants can still look pretty good too. Pregnancy question for a beginner?

I'm approx 5 weeks pregnant. Ok, so I am a military veteran who has some extenuating cirstances. Specifically, can anyone suggest to me how someone in my shoes is to become "normal" and live a typical American life? Specifically, what I mean is this: I got out of the Marines roughly six years ago, moved in with my bro in law as a roommate, got a manufacturing job, got laid off, and returned to school. Unlike most veterans, I did NOT grow up in the same small redneck town in the south or the midwest all of my life nor did I live in the SAME large city for all of my life while growing up. In other words, I got moved to different cities on three separate occasions as a child. One of my goals upon exiting the service was to be able to find someone, get married, FINALLY earn a college degree, and settle down. Sadly, NONE of that has come to fruition for me. After the plant that I worked at closed down, I started going to college and have exceeded in an academic sense. The problem for me is that college is socially isolating because I am almost an entire decade older than everyone else and due to the fact that a large majority of the people at the college that I attend are natives of the town that I live in. In other words, I am considered an outsider by them. The women who are in their early 20s at school also consider me to be too old for them and they won't even look at me. Moreover, I have met a few female military veterans at school and, WITHOUT exception, they are ALL presently already married to someone. The town that I live in is in one of the rocky mountain states and it is now all mostly active duty army and air force. However, the town that I currently live in FORMERLY had a thriving tech sector that has now all but dried up. So, perhaps I should consider moving out of state. I tried to get into some really good and DIVERSE colleges such as UT-Austin and UNC-Chapel Hill, but I wasn't accepted. I feel trapped in my situation because I want better for myself, but I feel that my hands are tied. The natives in the town that I live in absolutely hate Californians, Texans, and anybody who is from the southeast (such as myself). So, if you were me, would you continue to try to transfer to a college somewhere in the southeast where I grew up if you were in my shoes? I cannot afford out of state tuition so that is honestly the MAIN thing that is holding me back from moving at this point. Sadly, it appears as if my only option is to suck it up, stay here in this town, and graduate. Most importantly, my MAIN concern is that the college that I attend is NOT the flagship college of the state that I live in and I am worried that that will negatively impact my ability to find employment out of state because I am DEFINITELY moving out of state when and if I graduate from where I currently attend.

Why is my 6-month old waking up at night, not able to be consoled?

She usually sleeps pretty well, and if she cries, usually a pacifier does the trick. The last couple of nights, she is so upset, we have to rock her back to sleep, and we NEVER do that.
